NAAS AAUA CHAPTER IGNITES STUDENT UNITY AND CULTURE WITH EXCITING 3-DAY FESTIVAL
The National Association of Akungba Students (NAAS), Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba-Akoko (AAUA) Chapter, led by Hon. Comr. Adedayo Yetunde Stella (P.K.A. Joyfulheart), successfully organized a three-day programme designed to foster unity, celebrate cultural heritage, and strengthen social bonds among students.
The event kicked off with a football tournament and the official launch of the NAAS association jersey, bringing together undergraduates and graduates in an atmosphere of sportsmanship and camaraderie. The jersey was unveiled by Hon. Lawal Oladele (P.K.A. Holynation), alongside the NAAS AAUA Chapter President and other stakeholders. The opening match ended in a thrilling 6–6 draw, showcasing the competitive spirit of participants. To recognise the players’ efforts, the association distributed books and pens to all participants.
On the second day, members paid a courtesy visit to the palace of the Alale of Akungba Land, His Royal Majesty Oba Isiaka Oseni Adu Odundun Asodedero I (JP). The monarch welcomed the students and provided an insightful history of Akungba, explaining the origins and composition of its various quarters, including Ogbonale and Ogbonslakun. He encouraged students to uphold the values of their homeland and carry its legacy wherever they go.
The programme concluded with a NAAS picnic, featuring games, food, drinks, and social activities. The gathering reinforced the bond among members and reaffirmed the association’s dedication to unity and togetherness.
The leadership of NAAS AAUA Chapter expressed profound gratitude to HRM Oba Isiaka Oseni Adu Odundun Asodedero I (JP), Amb. Bisayo Busari-Akinnadeju (NAAS AAUA Chapter Patroness), as well as all NAASites, graduates, and stakeholders for their support in making the programme a success.
The association reiterated its commitment to student development, cultural promotion, and the growth of Akungba students.
