AAUA WELCOMES OVER 8,000 FRESH STUDENTS AT 2025/2026 MATRICULATION, VC ISSUES STRONG WARNING AGAINST CAMPUS VICES

The Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba-Akoko (AAUA), Ondo State, yesterday matriculated over 8,000 newly admitted students for the 2025/2026 academic session, formally admitting them into the university’s academic community.

The matriculation ceremony, held on the university campus, was attended by principal officers of the institution, academic staff, parents, guardians, and other stakeholders.

Addressing the fresh students, the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Olugbenga Ige, warned against social vices, indiscipline, and academic laziness, stressing that such behaviours could undermine their academic success and future prospects.

Prof. Ige reminded the matriculants that admission into AAUA comes with responsibilities, urging them to comply with the institution’s rules and regulations, uphold good moral conduct, and remain committed to academic excellence.

He reiterated the university’s zero-tolerance policy on cultism, examination malpractice, drug abuse, sexual misconduct, and other forms of unacceptable behaviour, noting that offenders would face disciplinary action in line with the university’s regulations.

While encouraging diligence and focus, the Vice-Chancellor assured the students of the commitment of the university management to providing a conducive learning environment, quality teaching, and adequate academic support.

Prof. Ige also advised the students to make effective use of available academic resources, mentorship opportunities, and approved extracurricular activities, emphasizing that discipline and hard work remain critical to achieving success.

He congratulated the newly admitted students and urged them to be worthy ambassadors of the university both within and outside the campus.

The ceremony officially marked the admission of the students into various faculties and academic programmes of the university for the 2025/2026 academic session.
