FIVE WORSHIPPERS ABDUCTED DURING CHURCH SERVICE IN ONDO COMMUNITY


Five worshippers have been reportedly abducted by gunmen during a church service in Uso, a community in Owo Local Government Area of Ondo State.

The incident occurred on Tuesday at a church located in Uso, which lies along the busy Akure–Owo highway. According to community sources, suspected kidnappers invaded the church premises during a service and forcefully took away five individuals.

One of the victims was said to have escaped from the abductors shortly after the attack. However, details surrounding the circumstances of the escape were not immediately available.

As of the time of filing this report, the identity of the church and the full details of the victims remain unclear. Security agencies are yet to issue an official statement regarding the development.

Residents in the area have expressed concern over rising security challenges along major highways in the state, particularly in communities bordering forest areas.

Efforts to reach the spokesperson of the Ondo State Police Command for confirmation were ongoing at the time of this report.
