TINUBU MOURNS EL-RUFAI’S MOTHER, EXTENDS CONDOLENCES OVER PASSING IN CAIRO


President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has extended his condolences to former Kaduna State Governor, Mallam Nasir El-Rufai, following the death of his mother, Alhaja Hajiya Umma.

According to a statement issued by the State House on Friday, the President described the late matriarch as a woman who lived a fulfilled and impactful life, raising children and grandchildren who have made notable contributions to national development.

Alhaja Hajiya Umma reportedly passed away in Cairo, Egypt, after a period of illness.

In his message, President Tinubu expressed deep sympathy to the former governor and his family, noting that the loss of a mother is a profound and deeply personal experience.

“Losing a mother is a pain unlike any other. I understand the depth of your loss and share in your grief,” the President said.

He added that while words may not fully ease the sorrow, he prayed that the memories of her love, wisdom, and guidance would bring comfort to the family during this difficult period.

The President also emphasized faith and submission to the will of God, stating that the deceased had fulfilled her purpose on earth and returned to her Creator.

“As firm believers in Almighty Allah, we are convinced that she has played her part in this world and has returned to her Maker,” he said.

President Tinubu joined family members, friends, and associates in mourning the deceased, while offering prayers for her eternal rest.

He prayed that Almighty Allah grant the late Alhaja Hajiya Umma Aljannah Firdaus and give the family the strength to bear the loss.

The condolence message was conveyed in a statement signed by the President’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga.
