FAJEMIROKUN-AJAYI OUTLINES DEVELOPMENT BLUEPRINT FOR ILE-OLUJI/OKE-IGBO AND ODIGBO FEDERAL CONSTITUENCY

Hon. Simisola Fajemirokun-Ajayi, an aspirant for the House of Representatives seat representing Ile-Oluji/Oke-Igbo and Odigbo Federal Constituency, has outlined her agenda, emphasizing economic development, strategic investment, and improved representation for the people.

Speaking during engagements with stakeholders across the constituency, Fajemirokun-Ajayi said her decision to contest is driven by a commitment to unlock the economic potential of the area and ensure residents benefit more directly from government policies and interventions.

She stressed that effective representation goes beyond occupying a political office, noting that it requires a deep understanding of local strengths and translating them into tangible opportunities for the people.

Highlighting key sectors, the aspirant identified agriculture as a major pillar of growth, particularly in Ile-Oluji, known for its cocoa production. She advocated for a shift from primary production to value addition through processing, improved farmer support systems, and access to broader markets, which she said would increase income for farmers and create employment for youths.

Fajemirokun-Ajayi also pointed to Ore’s strategic importance as a commercial hub in Ondo State. According to her, with targeted policies and infrastructure development, the town could attract industries, stimulate economic activities, and generate jobs for residents.

In Odigbo, she underscored the economic potential of bitumen deposits, noting growing investor interest in the resource. She added that with effective representation, the area could attract responsible investments while ensuring that host communities benefit from such developments.

Her supporters have cited her professional and political experience as a key strength. Fajemirokun-Ajayi has been credited with facilitating investment pipelines exceeding $150 million and contributing to the recovery of over $50 million in assets repatriated to Nigeria.

She currently serves as Senior Special Adviser on Strategy, Investments and Partnerships at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, where she has been involved in attracting investment opportunities and strengthening partnerships aligned with national economic objectives.

Previously, she served as Executive Secretary of the West Africa Economic Summit Secretariat, where she coordinated engagements involving Heads of State, development finance institutions, and regional organizations to promote trade and investment across West Africa.

Within the All Progressives Congress (APC), she played a strategic role as Head of Secretariat for the party’s National Situation Room during the 2019 and 2023 presidential elections, overseeing large-scale data operations to enhance coordination and decision-making processes.

An alumnus of the University of Reading, where she studied Politics and International Relations, Fajemirokun-Ajayi also attended Columbia Business School, further strengthening her expertise in governance and economic strategy.

She has received several recognitions, including the APC Youth Presidential Award, and has been acknowledged by various organizations for her contributions to leadership and advocacy.

Across the constituency, observers note increasing interest in her candidacy, with supporters expressing confidence in her ability to combine grassroots engagement with policy-driven results.
