OSOPADEC OPENS 2026 BURSARY APPLICATION FOR ILAJE, ESE-ODO STUDENTS
The Ondo State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission (OSOPADEC) has officially announced the commencement of its bursary application for students from Ilaje and Ese-Odo Local Government Areas for the 2024/2025 academic session.
In a statement issued by the commission, eligible students currently enrolled in tertiary institutions across Nigeria are invited to apply for the financial support scheme aimed at easing the burden of education in oil-producing communities.
Eligibility Criteria
According to OSOPADEC, applicants must meet the following requirements:
Must be indigenes of Ilaje and/or Ese-Odo Local Government Areas of Ondo State;
Must be full-time students in accredited public or private tertiary institutions within Nigeria for the 2024/2025 academic session;
Must be undergraduate or postgraduate students, including those in Law School, with confirmed admission status from their institutions;
The commission, however, clarified that part-time, sandwich, pre-degree, NTI, and diploma students, as well as students from unaccredited institutions, are not eligible for the bursary.
Required Documents
Applicants are expected to upload the following documents during the online registration process:
Recent passport photograph
Certificate of Local Government of Origin
JAMB admission letter
School fees receipt for the 2024/2025 academic session
Valid student identity card
Application Guidelines
OSOPADEC emphasized that applicants must ensure accuracy during registration, noting that:
No change of bank details will be allowed after submission;
Applicants must print out the registration slip after completing the process;
The slip must be signed and stamped by the Dean of Student Affairs or Head of Department;
The signed document must be uploaded to finalize the application.
Application Timeline
The application portal will open on Tuesday, April 28, 2026, and close on Monday, May 18, 2026.
Interested applicants are advised to complete their registration via the official OSOPADEC bursary portal within the stipulated period.
The Executive Chairman of OSOPADEC, Prince Olabiyi Olaleye Poroye, endorsed the announcement, reaffirming the commission’s commitment to supporting education and human capital development in the state’s oil-producing communities.
