PDP SET TO RATIFY JONATHAN’S PRESIDENTIAL NOMINATION AT SPECIAL NATIONAL CONVENTION
The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has announced plans to hold a Special National Convention for the ratification of the nomination of former President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan as the party’s presidential candidate ahead of the 2027 general elections.
According to an official invitation released by the party, the convention is scheduled to take place on Saturday, May 30, 2026, at the ‘A’ Class Event Centre, Kassim Ibrahim Way, Wuse 2, Abuja, beginning at 10:00 a.m.
The event is expected to bring together party leaders, delegates, stakeholders, and supporters from across the country as the PDP formally concludes the nomination process.
The invitation was jointly signed by the PDP National Publicity Secretary, Comrade Ini Ememobong, and the National Organising Secretary, Hon. Theophilus Dakas Shan.
Former President Goodluck Jonathan, who served as Nigeria’s president from 2010 to 2015, remains one of the prominent political figures in the country. His expected ratification by the opposition party is likely to shape political discussions ahead of the next election cycle.
Political observers are expected to closely monitor the outcome of the convention and the party’s next steps as preparations for the 2027 elections continue.
