ONDO GOV AIYEDATIWA TO COMMISSION COMMUNITY-FUNDED 10MVA TRANSFORMER AS ILE-OLUJI CELEBRATES MAJOR POWER BREAKTHROUGH


The Ile-Oluji Assembly has announced plans for the official commissioning of the community-funded 10MVA Transformer Substation in Ile-Oluji, Ondo State, marking a major milestone in efforts to improve electricity supply and infrastructure development within the kingdom.

In a letter dated May 29, 2026, and addressed to donors, associations, community groups, professional bodies, religious organizations, corporate supporters, and friends of Ile-Oluji Kingdom, the Assembly expressed appreciation to all individuals and organizations that contributed to the successful completion of the project.

According to the statement, the transformer substation project was initiated to address long-standing electricity challenges facing the community, while also creating a stronger foundation for economic growth, industrial development, employment generation, and improved living conditions for residents.

The Assembly described the completion of the project as a demonstration of what collective community effort, unity, and shared vision can achieve.

It noted that financial donations, technical expertise, provision of construction materials, logistics support, equipment, voluntary labour, advocacy, and moral encouragement from members of the community at home and in the diaspora played significant roles in bringing the project to completion.

The statement also acknowledged the contributions of community associations, age-grade groups, social clubs, religious institutions, market associations, traditional institutions, professional bodies, and other stakeholders who supported the initiative.

The commissioning ceremony is scheduled to hold as follows:

Venue: 10MVA Transformer Substation Site, Ile-Oluji, Ondo State

The project is expected to be commissioned by Ondo State Governor, Dr. Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, under the royal fatherhood of the Jegun of Ile-Oluji Kingdom, His Imperial Majesty, Oba Julius Oluwole Adetimehin.

The Ile-Oluji Assembly urged residents, supporters, and friends of the kingdom to attend the event and celebrate what it described as a transformational achievement for the community.

The Assembly further expressed optimism that the project would benefit future generations and strengthen socio-economic activities within the area.
