DR. MICHAEL AJILO BREAKS SILENCE, DECLARES CONTINUED COMMITMENT TO ONDO EAST/WEST CONSTITUENCY AFTER APC PRIMARY PROCESS
Dr. Michael Akintomide Ajilo, an aspirant under the All Progressives Congress (APC) for the Ondo East/West Federal Constituency ahead of the 2027 general elections, has expressed appreciation to party leaders, supporters, political associates, and stakeholders who stood by him throughout the party’s recent primary election process.
In a statement released on Monday, June 29, 2026, Ajilo thanked APC members within Ondo Kingdom, across Ondo State, Nigeria, and supporters in the diaspora for what he described as overwhelming support, prayers, encouragement, and goodwill shown during his political journey.
According to him, the experience further reinforced his belief that leadership should not revolve around personal ambition but should instead be rooted in the trust and confidence placed in leaders by the people they seek to serve.
Ajilo also extended gratitude to family members, community leaders, political associates, friends, well-wishers, and party stakeholders who, according to him, strongly believed in his vision to redefine representation for Ondo East/West Federal Constituency at the National Assembly in 2027.
Reflecting on the recently concluded APC primary election process, the politician called for unity among party members and supporters, urging all stakeholders to move beyond political differences and focus on the bigger picture of development and progress for Ondo Kingdom.
He emphasized that politics should remain a contest of ideas and aspirations rather than a source of permanent division, noting that the true measure of victory lies in the ability of individuals and communities to remain united after political contests.
Ajilo stated that his aspiration to represent the federal constituency was never driven by personal gain but by what he described as a genuine desire to serve the people, amplify their voices, and contribute meaningfully to the long-term progress of Ondo Kingdom.
He further stressed that the current moment should not be one characterized by bitterness, witch-hunting, vindictiveness, malice, or personal vendettas, but rather a time for reconciliation, cooperation, and collective action toward solving challenges confronting the constituency.
According to him, communities achieve sustainable development when people choose unity over division and collective progress over personal interests, adding that Ondo Kingdom can only reach its full potential when every stakeholder sees themselves as a partner in development.
Ajilo reaffirmed that despite the outcome of the political process, he remains actively committed to grassroots political engagement and will continue consulting leaders and elders while working closely with youths, women, and other stakeholders whose contributions can help attract meaningful development to the constituency.
He maintained that every opinion from constituents would continue to matter and that constructive suggestions capable of advancing the collective interest of the people would always be embraced.
The APC chieftain concluded by reiterating his commitment to building what he described as a stronger and more progressive Ondo Kingdom, adding that wisdom, unity, and the collective interest of the people must remain the guiding principles for future development efforts.
The statement comes amid growing political activities in Ondo State ahead of preparations for the 2027 general elections.
