OSUN GOVERNMENT CLOSES MAJOR OSOGBO ROADS AHEAD OF LAMECO FLYOVER COMMISSIONING
The Osun State Government has announced the temporary closure of roads leading to the newly completed Lameco Flyover Bridge in Osogbo ahead of the official commissioning ceremony scheduled for Wednesday.
The announcement was made in a public notice issued on Tuesday by the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Works and Infrastructure, Engineer Bashir Bello, as preparations intensify for the unveiling of one of the state’s major infrastructure projects.
According to the government, the temporary restriction of movement around the project site is aimed at ensuring public safety, maintaining orderliness, and enabling smooth coordination during the commissioning event.
Officials disclosed that the event will feature the formal inauguration of landmark infrastructure projects executed under the administration of Governor Ademola Adeleke, with the newly constructed five-span Lameco Overhead Bridge serving as the highlight of the ceremony.
The state government advised motorists, commuters, transport operators, residents, and other road users within Osogbo and surrounding areas to adjust their movement plans and make use of alternative routes throughout the duration of the exercise.
Authorities also confirmed that security agencies alongside traffic management personnel would be stationed around the affected areas to control vehicular movement and maintain public order during the event.
In its statement, the government expressed appreciation to residents for their patience and cooperation, emphasizing that the temporary inconvenience is part of broader efforts to improve infrastructure development across Osun State.
The commissioning of the flyover is expected to mark another major milestone in the state government’s urban development agenda aimed at easing traffic congestion and improving transportation within the state capital.
