HON. CHIEF LAWRENCE ADENUGBA CONGRATULATES PROFESSOR TOMOLA OBAMUYI ON APPOINTMENT AS AAUA'S 7TH SUBSTANTIVE VICE-CHANCELLOR
Hon. Chief Lawrence Adenugba, popularly known as Parie, has extended his heartfelt congratulations to Professor Tomola Obamuyi on his inauguration as the seventh substantive Vice-Chancellor of Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba-Akoko (AAUA), describing the appointment as a well-deserved recognition of excellence, integrity and distinguished service to higher education.
Professor Obamuyi officially assumed office on Wednesday, July 8, 2026, with a commitment to providing purposeful, transparent and inclusive leadership while building on the achievements of previous administrations to further enhance the university's academic reputation.
In a congratulatory message, Adenugba praised the new Vice-Chancellor as an accomplished scholar, seasoned administrator and visionary leader whose wealth of experience in teaching, research and university administration makes him eminently qualified to lead the institution into a new era of growth and innovation.
He expressed confidence that Professor Obamuyi's leadership would strengthen academic excellence, promote cutting-edge research, encourage innovation, improve institutional development and position Adekunle Ajasin University among Nigeria's foremost centres of learning.
"Your appointment is a testament to your remarkable contributions to academia and your unwavering commitment to excellence. I have no doubt that your experience, integrity and strategic vision will inspire meaningful progress and elevate AAUA to greater heights," Adenugba said.
The Ondo political leader also commended Professor Obamuyi's vision for advancing digital transformation, expanding research opportunities, strengthening industry collaborations and enhancing the quality of teaching and learning within the institution.
He urged members of the university community to rally behind the new Vice-Chancellor, noting that unity, cooperation and shared commitment would be essential to achieving the ambitious goals outlined for the university.
Adenugba further wished Professor Obamuyi a successful and impactful tenure, expressing optimism that his administration would leave a lasting legacy of academic excellence, innovation and sustainable institutional development.
Professor Tomola Obamuyi, a Professor of Banking and Finance and former Dean of the School of Management Technology at the Federal University of Technology, Akure (FUTA), brings more than three decades of experience in academia, research and university administration to his new role.
