LAGOS POLICE PARADE THREE SUSPECTS OVER VANDALISM

The Lagos State Police Command has paraded three suspects arrested in connection with acts of vandalism in different parts of the state.

Parading the suspects at the Command Headquarters on Friday, the Police said the arrests followed intelligence-led operations and complaints from members of the public over the destruction of public and private infrastructure.

According to the Police, the suspects were apprehended while allegedly vandalising electrical cables and other public installations, actions which have caused significant disruption to residents and businesses in affected areas.

The Command’s spokesperson stated that preliminary investigations revealed that the suspects were part of a larger network involved in the theft and vandalism of critical infrastructure, adding that efforts were ongoing to arrest other members of the syndicate.

The Police warned that vandalism remains a serious criminal offence that undermines public safety and economic activities, stressing that offenders would be prosecuted in accordance with the law.

Residents were urged to remain vigilant and report suspicious activities to the nearest police station, as the Command reaffirmed its commitment to protecting public assets and maintaining law and order across Lagos State.

The suspects are expected to be charged to court upon the conclusion of investigations.
