EX-SENATOR GADA JOINS PDP AFTER LEAVING ADC
Former senator, Sadiq Umar Gada, has officially joined the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) after defecting from the African Democratic Congress (ADC), marking another shift in the country’s evolving political landscape.
Gada, who previously represented Sokoto East Senatorial District in the National Assembly, announced his defection at a gathering of PDP leaders and supporters, where he was formally received into the party.
Explaining his decision, the ex-lawmaker said his move was driven by the need to align with a political platform he believes is better positioned to address the socio-economic and developmental challenges facing his constituents and the nation at large.
PDP leaders in the state welcomed Gada, describing his defection as a significant boost to the party’s strength ahead of future elections. They noted that his political experience and grassroots influence would contribute meaningfully to the PDP’s fortunes in Sokoto State.
The defection comes amid increased political realignments across the country, as politicians reposition themselves ahead of upcoming electoral contests.
Party insiders say Gada’s return to the PDP is expected to reshape political calculations within the state, particularly in Sokoto East, where he maintains a strong political following.
