The Ile-Oluji Assembly Education Group has donated laboratory equipment valued at over ₦10 million to public secondary schools across Ile-Oluji, Ondo State, in a bid to strengthen science education and improve learning outcomes.
The Education Group, a subsidiary of the Ile-Oluji Assembly, was established to support and enhance the academic development of young people within the community.
The latest intervention followed a comprehensive assessment which revealed significant gaps in laboratory facilities across several public secondary schools, particularly affecting science students.
According to the Assembly, the donation is part of its broader commitment to ensuring students have access to modern, functional laboratory tools that enable practical, hands-on learning. The initiative is expected to improve students’ academic performance, especially in science-related subjects, while also supporting teachers in delivering quality instruction.
Speaking on the initiative, the Assembly reiterated its dedication to educational development and community growth, stressing that adequate learning resources are critical to preparing students for future academic and professional pursuits.
The Assembly expressed deep appreciation to its Speaker, Chief Aro Akin Akinfemiwa, for his sustained advocacy for quality education. Special recognition was also extended to the Jegun-in-Council and other contributors whose support made the donation possible.
In addition to the laboratory equipment, the Assembly also procured six brush cutters for distribution to all public secondary schools in Ile-Oluji.
This fulfils a commitment made during a meeting between the Assembly and school principals in December 2025, aimed at improving school maintenance and sanitation.
The Assembly noted that the provision of brush cutters underscores its focus not only on academic excellence but also on creating clean, safe, and conducive learning environments for students and staff.
School principals and teachers were commended for their cooperation and ongoing support, which the Assembly described as vital to the success of its education-focused initiatives. Schools were also urged to ensure proper usage and maintenance of the donated equipment to guarantee long-term benefits.
The Ile-Oluji Assembly further called on community stakeholders and residents to continue supporting collective efforts aimed at advancing education and sustainable development within the area.
