APC CATEGORICALLY DECIDE SHETTIMA’S 2027 POSITION

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has denied media reports suggesting that Vice President Kashim Shettima could be replaced as President Bola Tinubu’s running mate for the 2027 presidential election.

In a press statement issued on Monday, APC National Publicity Secretary Felix Morka described the claims as “purely speculative, untrue and utterly baseless.”

The statement explained that while initial reports were subtle, recent speculation escalated to the point of naming specific individuals as potential replacements for Shettima.

“Our attention has been drawn to growing media frenzy about possible replacement of Vice President Kashim Shettima as the running mate to President Bola Tinubu under the platform of our great Party ahead of the 2027 General Elections,” the statement read.

“While these stories have been mostly subtle, they recently assumed a new dimension when names of specific individuals were touted as possible replacement for Vice President Shettima. Our Party states in categorical terms that the stories are purely speculative, untrue and utterly baseless.”

The APC urged media organizations to avoid lending their platforms to “rumour-peddlers and mischievous news sources of questionable provenance,” stressing that the party remains focused on supporting President Tinubu and Vice President Shettima in delivering the Renewed Hope Agenda, entrenching bold reforms, and transforming the economy.

The statement further called on ministers, senior government officials, and party members to refrain from stoking needless speculations and to concentrate on diligent service to both the government and the party.
