JUST IN: GOV MAKINDE OF OYO MEET PRESIDENT TINUBU

GOV MAKINDE IN ASO VILLA TO SEE TINUBU

Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, on Thursday, held a closed-door meeting with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.

Governor Makinde arrived at the Villa earlier today, where he met privately with the President. Although details of the discussion were not made public, the visit has generated wide political interest, given Makinde’s position as a prominent opposition governor.

Speaking briefly with journalists after the meeting, Makinde described the engagement as cordial and constructive, stressing that governance requires continuous dialogue and consultations in the interest of national development.

According to him, such meetings should not always be viewed through partisan lenses, adding that leaders must regularly exchange ideas on issues bordering on security, the economy, and the welfare of Nigerians.

Makinde’s visit comes amid increasing political consultations across party lines, as key political actors continue engagements with the Presidency ahead of future political developments.

As of the time of filing this report, the Presidency had not issued an official statement on the outcome of the meeting.
