BREAKING: Lagos Police Launch Full Investigation into Pastor Chris Okafor Over Multiple Sexual Misconduct Allegations
The Lagos State Commissioner of Police, CP Olohundare Jimoh, has ordered the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) in Panti to immediately begin probing serious allegations of sexual misconduct levelled against Senior Pastor Chris Okafor of Mountain of Liberation and Miracle Ministries (also known as Grace Nation).
The directive comes amid widespread public outcry sparked by a wave of accusations that have dominated social media in recent weeks. What started as online claims has now escalated into an official police matter, with investigators set to summon Pastor Okafor for question ing and contact the women who have come forward.
The scandal gained momentum after Nollywood actress Doris Ogala publicly accused the cleric of a long-term sexual relationship spanning nearly a decade, broken promises of marriage, and sharing her private images. She has vowed to pursue legal action and rejected an alleged settlement offer.
Other women, including Pastor Okafor’s ex-wife Bessem Okafor, have also spoken out, alleging patterns of infidelity, manipulation, and abuse. Some accusers claim the pastor fathered children outside his marriages and pressured women into abortions.
In response, Pastor Okafor publicly apologised to Doris Ogala during a church service late December, admitting to “past mistakes.”
On January 1, 2026, he announced he would step back from ministerial duties for at least a month to focus on “spiritual renewal” and family life with his new wife, whom he married on December 16, 2025.
Sources indicate pressure from the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN) may have influenced his temporary withdrawal, as the body reviews the matter internally while emphasising that criminal allegations belong in the hands of law enforcement.
This remains a fast-moving story. No charges have been filed yet, and all allegations are yet to be tested in court.
