NIGERIA’S ENTERTAINMENT INDUSTRY A GLOBAL FORCE — TUNJI-OJO SEEKS STRONGER COLLABORATION WITH TAMPAN

Nigeria’s entertainment industry has once again been described as a national pride and a global powerhouse, as the Minister of Interior, Hon. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, praised its unmatched creativity, cultural influence, and economic impact.

The minister made this known after spending a significant part of the afternoon in a warm and engaging meeting with the Theatre Arts and Motion Pictures Practitioners Association of Nigeria (TAMPAN), led by its President, Otunba Bolaji Amusan, popularly known as Mr. Latin.

According to Tunji-Ojo, Nigeria’s entertainment sector remains the dazzling crown jewel of the nation—bursting with infectious laughter, soul-stirring drama, and unrivalled creative energy that continues to captivate audiences across the globe while bringing joy into homes nationwide.

The meeting followed his recent recognition as “Man of the Year” at TAMPAN’s National Professional and Empowerment Summit, an honour he said reflects the association’s appreciation of the ongoing reforms and service delivery initiatives within the Ministry of Interior.

During the interaction, both parties held fruitful discussions on potential areas of collaboration, emphasizing that effective governance is a shared responsibility that requires the active involvement of patriotic stakeholders across all sectors.

Tunji-Ojo reaffirmed the Federal Government’s commitment to nurturing and empowering Nigeria’s creative talents, stressing that strategic partnerships between government institutions and the creative industry are essential for driving inclusive growth and broader national development.

He noted that strengthening such collaborations would not only enhance the welfare of practitioners in the entertainment industry but also reinforce the sector’s role as a vital contributor to Nigeria’s socio-economic advancement.

The engagement underscored a shared resolve between the Ministry of Interior and TAMPAN to work together in unlocking greater opportunities for Nigeria’s creative economy while projecting the nation’s cultural strength on the global stage.
