POLICE RECRUITMENT: PSC AND NPF GIVE MORE TIME FOR POLICE RECRUITMENT AMID LOW APPLICATIONS

PSC AND NPF GIVE MORE TIME FOR POLICE RECRUITMENT AMID LOW APPLICATIONS

The Police Service Commission (PSC) and the Nigeria Police Force (NPF) have extended the deadline for the ongoing police recruitment exercise to February 8, 2026, citing low application rates in some states, including Lagos and Ogun.

A statement issued by the PSC emphasized that the extension is intended to give interested candidates additional time to complete and submit their applications, ensuring wider participation in the recruitment process.

The recruitment exercise, which targets qualified Nigerians seeking to join the police force, has faced lower-than-expected numbers in certain regions, prompting the authorities to adjust the timeline and encourage more applications.

Prospective candidates are urged to visit the official PSC online portal and submit their applications before the new deadline. The PSC also reiterated that all recruitment processes remain fully online, as part of efforts to promote merit, transparency, and accountability.

Applicants are reminded to ensure their details are accurate and complete to avoid disqualification during the selection process.
