ATIKU, MAKINDE HOLD CLOSED-DOOR MEETING WITH EX-MILITARY PRESIDENT BABANGIDA

Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar on Tuesday afternoon held a closed-door meeting with former Military President, General Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida (retd.), at his private hilltop residence in Minna, the Niger State capital.

Sources confirmed that Atiku arrived at the residence a few minutes after 1:00 p.m. and was immediately ushered into a private session with the former military leader.

About 40 minutes later, the Governor of Oyo State, Engineer Seyi Makinde, also arrived at the residence and joined the ongoing meeting.

Details of the discussions remain undisclosed as of the time of filing this report, with none of the parties making an official statement on the purpose or outcome of the visit.

The meeting has, however, sparked political interest amid ongoing realignments and consultations ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Further details are expected as developments unfold.
