EX-OSUN SSG MOSHOOD ADEOTI, THOUSANDS OF SUPPORTERS DECLARE BACKING FOR ADELEKE’S SECOND TERM, MOVE TO ACCORD PARTY

Former Secretary to the Osun State Government and frontline politician, Moshood Adeoti, has formally declared support for the second-term ambition of Governor Ademola Adeleke, alongside thousands of his loyalists across the state, while also announcing their defection to the Accord Party.

The political realignment was unveiled during a large town hall meeting held in Osogbo, the Osun State capital, which drew Adeoti’s political structure, grassroots coordinators, and representatives from across the state.

According to organisers, the meeting was attended by delegates drawn from all 332 wards and polling units in Osun State, reflecting the breadth of Adeoti’s grassroots network and the scale of the defection.

Adeoti’s return to active politics comes about two months after he stepped back following internal disagreements within the Omoluabi/ADC political bloc. His latest move signals a renewed political engagement under a new platform.

Addressing his supporters, Adeoti said the decision to back Governor Adeleke’s re-election bid followed wide consultations with stakeholders and loyalists across the state. He attributed the endorsement to what he described as visible governance reforms, infrastructure development, and people-centred leadership recorded under the current administration.

He further noted that the governor’s leadership style, which he said keeps public officials closely connected to residents, has strengthened trust between the government and the people.

Reaffirming his political philosophy, Adeoti emphasised his long-standing commitment to grassroots politics and local empowerment, restating his belief in what he described as “Osun for Osun.”

At the meeting, a formal motion for Adeoti and his supporters to join the Accord Party was moved by Hon. Kehinde Morenikeji and seconded by Kehinde Ogaala. The motion was unanimously adopted by attendees.

Also speaking, the Special Adviser to Governor Ademola Adeleke on Political Matters, Hon. Muniru Raji, described Adeoti as a seasoned grassroots politician with strong statewide acceptance. He urged supporters to remain united and committed, describing Adeoti as a dependable leader with a proven record of loyalty and organisational strength.

Leaders of Adeoti’s support groups were also present at the event, underscoring the significance of the endorsement and defection.

The development is regarded as a notable shift in Osun State’s political landscape as alignments intensify ahead of the next governorship election in the state.
