ONDO POLICE NAB THREE SUSPECTS OVER BRUTAL KILLING OF 27-YEAR-OLD WOMAN
The Ondo State Police Command has confirmed the arrest of three suspects in connection with the killing of a 27-year-old woman, identified as Faith, in Ondo Town.
The incident, which occurred at Fagun Estate Road 5 in Ondo East Local Government Area, was reported to the Fagun Police Division on February 5, 2026. According to the Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Abayomi Jimoh, officers swiftly responded to the distress report and discovered the lifeless body of the victim at the scene.
The command stated that the body was professionally evacuated and deposited at the State Specialist Hospital morgue for preservation and autopsy as part of standard investigative procedures.
Preliminary findings indicate that the attackers allegedly forced their way into the compound of a resident identified as Helen before assaulting the victim. Faith reportedly sustained severe machete injuries during the attack, which led to her death.
Following coordinated investigative efforts, the police arrested three male suspects identified as Olayode (27), Temitope (32), and Bolaji (22). Authorities disclosed that the suspects are currently in custody and have provided statements to assist ongoing investigations.
The police assured that the suspects will be formally charged in court upon the conclusion of the investigation.
The Commissioner of Police in Ondo State has urged residents to remain calm and law-abiding, emphasizing that security measures have been reinforced in the area to prevent further incidents. The command reaffirmed its commitment to safeguarding lives and property and encouraged members of the public to continue providing credible information to support crime-fighting efforts.
