ADC VOWS TO DISLODGE APC IN YOBE AHEAD OF 2027 GENERAL ELECTIONS

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has declared its intention to unseat the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in Yobe State and at the national level in the 2027 general elections.

The declaration was made on Monday by a former Minister of Police Affairs and leader of the ADC in Yobe State, Adamu Maina Waziri, during the commissioning of the party’s zonal and local government secretariats in Damaturu, Tarmuwa, and Bursari Local Government Areas.

Waziri said the establishment of party secretariats across the state forms part of a broader strategy to strengthen the ADC’s grassroots presence and position the party as a viable political alternative ahead of the next election cycle.

According to him, the party has intensified preparations for its national convention and primary elections, which he noted would further consolidate its internal structures and readiness for the 2027 polls.

“Our party is determined to challenge the status quo. We are laying the foundation across Yobe State and beyond to bring about a new political direction,” Waziri told journalists at the event.

The former member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Board of Trustees stated that the ADC’s priority is to convince Nigerians—particularly young people—that it offers practical and sustainable solutions to the country’s political and socio-economic challenges.

He added that the party is focusing on community outreach, public engagement, and policy-driven discussions to build trust and broaden its support base.

Waziri further announced that the ADC would commence a nationwide membership registration and validation exercise within the next two weeks.

He explained that the exercise would precede the party’s local government and state congresses, as well as its non-elective national convention, describing the process as essential for transparency and inclusive participation.

The ADC leader urged party members and supporters to remain committed, stressing that the party is prepared to take its message to all parts of Yobe State and across the country as preparations for the 2027 elections gather momentum.
