ATIKU ABUBAKAR DENOUNCES “BEER PARLOUR” CLAIMS BY PETER AYODELE FAYOSE
Abuja, February 12, 2026 – Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has officially dismissed recent claims made by Peter Ayodele Fayose, described as a “reckless and malicious fabrication,” which purported to reveal secret political negotiations between Atiku and Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde.
In a statement released by Phrank Shaibu, Senior Special Assistant on Public Communication to Atiku Abubakar, the former vice president categorically denied the allegations, stressing that the publication is entirely false.
The statement clarified that no discussions took place regarding vice-presidential tickets, ₦10 billion contributions, zoning arrangements, delegate-delivery guarantees, or any purported “Dubai meeting.” According to Shaibu, the story represents “insider fiction” and is designed to mislead, distract, and provoke the public.
“Atiku Abubakar’s political engagements are broad-based, principled, and national in scope, not the narrow, transactional theatrics described in the publication,” the statement read.
The press release further condemned the attempt to involve other political actors in the narrative, describing it as an effort to manufacture relevance through falsehood and sensationalism. Shaibu urged the public to treat the publication with the contempt it deserves.
“Atiku Abubakar does not engage in politics through secrecy, bribery, or transactional desperation,” the statement emphasized. “He remains focused on principled engagement and national development, not backroom theatrics designed by attention-seekers.”
