CONSENSUS EMERGES AS APC ELECTS JEROME OLORUNYOLEMI CHAIRMAN IN ILE-OLUJI/OKEIGBO LG



The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ile-Oluji/Okeigbo Local Government Area of Ondo State has concluded its Local Government Congress with the emergence of a new set of executives through a consensus arrangement.

Hon. Jerome Olorunyolemi was elected as the new Local Government Chairman of the party at the end of the exercise, which was conducted in line with the party’s constitution and established guidelines.

The congress was witnessed by party leaders across different levels, including stakeholders at the state and federal levels, underscoring the significance attached to the process. The Ondo State Commissioner for Budget and Economic Planning, Hon. Laolu Akindolire, was also in attendance. Officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) were present to observe the proceedings.

Party stakeholders described the congress as peaceful and orderly, noting that the consensus approach reflected unity among members in the local government chapter.

Hon. Olorunyolemi is regarded as a longstanding member of the progressive political family, with his involvement in party activities dating back to the days of the Alliance for Democracy (AD). He previously served as Leader of the Local Government Legislative Council, representing Ward 4, where he played a role in legislative oversight and grassroots representation.




Beyond his political experience, he is also known within the community as a businessman with years of private sector experience.

Party members expressed confidence that his background in both public service and business will contribute to strengthening the APC’s structure and advancing the party’s activities in the local government.

Further updates on the composition of other members of the executive committee are expected to be made public by party officials.
