GOMBE POLICE RESCUE KIDNAPPING VICTIM IN SWIFT OPERATION
The Gombe State Police Command has successfully rescued a kidnapped businessman in Tingile Village, located in the Birin Fulani area of Nafada Local Government Area. The operation, conducted on February 11, 2026, followed an attack on the victim’s ranch by unknown assailants.
According to the Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Buhari Abdullahi, the attackers, armed with sticks, cutlasses, and knives, beat the businessman, 48-year-old Alhaji Adamu Bappah, and his son before abducting him. The son sustained injuries and was immediately taken to a hospital for medical care.
DSP Abdullahi confirmed that the rescue was executed through a coordinated effort involving police operatives, local hunters, and members of the community vigilante group. “The victim was safely recovered at Dawo bush area in Kwani Local Government and promptly taken to a hospital for medical examination before being reunited with his family,” he stated.
He added that authorities are continuing efforts to apprehend the suspects involved in the attack. “The Command remains committed to fighting crime and ensuring the safety of all residents across Gombe State,” DSP Abdullahi affirmed.
The police’s swift response highlights the importance of collaboration between security agencies and local communities in addressing criminal activities in the state.
