LEAVE ME OUT OF OSOPADEC POLITICS – OKUNOMO

6th February, 2026

Hon. Banji Ben Okunomo has issued a formal statement clarifying his position regarding political activities surrounding the Oil Palm Produce Development Company of Nigeria (OSOPADEC).

Okunomo emphasized that he has no interest in the chairmanship of the agency and has not authorized anyone to mention his name, seek support on his behalf, or associate him with any political arrangements within OSOPADEC.

“Any reports, insinuations, or speculations suggesting otherwise are entirely false and should be disregarded. I remain focused on my personal engagements and contributions to society, and I firmly believe that leadership is ordained by God,” he stated.

A former local government chairman in Ilaje Local Government, Ondo State, Okunomo is also a Barrister who recently established his legal chamber in Akure, the state capital, in addition to his pursuits as a businessman.

He appealed to all stakeholders to respect his decision and refrain from involving him in OSOPADEC politics, while extending his best wishes for peace and effective leadership within the agency.
