 ONDO APC LEADERS CLOSE RANKS IN AKURE, PLEDGE PEACEFUL WARD CONGRESS ACROSS STATE


Leaders and key stakeholders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ondo State on Tuesday night concluded a strategic meeting in Akure, reaffirming their commitment to unity and internal cohesion ahead of the party’s 2026 Ward Congress scheduled for Wednesday, February 18.

The meeting, which lasted several hours and ended at about 8:00 p.m., was held at the party’s state secretariat along Ilesa Road in Akure. It drew attendance from party leaders, elected officials, critical stakeholders, and representatives of the APC National Secretariat.

According to party sources, discussions centered on final preparations for the ward congress, the resolution of concerns raised by members, and strategies to ensure that the exercise is conducted in a transparent, peaceful, and credible manner across all wards in the state.

Officials from the party’s National Secretariat reportedly assured members that adequate arrangements had been made to guarantee a smooth and hitch-free process. They emphasized strict adherence to party guidelines and internal democratic principles during the congress.

The meeting hall was said to be filled to capacity as stakeholders deliberated on party affairs and broader political developments. Participants reiterated their loyalty to the APC and pledged to work collectively to sustain the party’s strength and electoral prospects in Ondo State.

Stakeholders also acknowledged the leadership of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, commending efforts aimed at strengthening the party’s national structure. Similarly, speakers at the meeting referenced the leadership of Ondo State Governor, Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, noting that ongoing reconciliation initiatives within the state chapter had helped to ease internal tensions and promote unity among members.

Party leaders described the ward congress as a critical stage in reinforcing the APC’s grassroots structure and urged members to conduct themselves responsibly and peacefully throughout the process.

The APC Ward Congress is expected to be held simultaneously across all wards in Ondo State under the supervision of officials deployed from the National Secretariat.
