NEWS UPDATE: HILDA BACI RECEIVES THIRD GUINNESS WORLD RECORD PLAQUE FOR JOLLOF RICE FEAT

HILDA BACI RECEIVES THIRD GUINNESS WORLD RECORD PLAQUE FOR JOLLOF RICE FEAT

Popular Nigerian chef Hilda Baci has been officially recognised as a three-time Guinness World Record (GWR) holder, receiving her third certificate plaque in January 2026, following confirmation by the Guinness World Records organisation.

Sharing the moment in a video on Instagram, Baci expressed her gratitude, writing: “Third time. Not because I planned it. Not because I felt ready. But because God allowed it. Unboxing this record pack felt like reliving the moment all over again. The nerves. The faith. The sacrifice. The prayers. The belief that something bigger than me was happening. I don’t take this lightly. I don’t get used to it. I’m just deeply grateful. Thank you to everyone who has stood by me from the very first ‘let’s try’ to this third ‘officially amazing.’”

Hilda Baci’s latest record stems from her largest serving of Nigerian-style jollof rice in 2025, which also set a record for the largest serving of rice overall, achieved in collaboration with food brand Gino Nigeria.

This achievement follows her first Guinness World Record in 2023, when she set the record for the longest cooking marathon, cementing her status as one of Nigeria’s most celebrated culinary figures.

The recognition underscores Baci’s growing influence in the culinary world and her ability to leverage creativity, dedication, and cultural pride to achieve global milestones. Her record-breaking feats continue to inspire chefs and food enthusiasts across Africa and beyond.
