 NOLLYWOOD ACTRESS KEMITY DENIES TRADING SEX FOR MOVIE ROLES


Lagos, Nigeria – February 13, 2026 – Popular Nigerian actress Ariyo Oluwakemisola Apesin, professionally known as Kemity, has refuted claims that she exchanged sexual favours for movie roles.

In a post on her Instagram page for Throwback Thursday, the actress described such claims as “social media noise” and firmly denied ever using her body to secure acting opportunities.

“Throwback Thursday, there is something I need to clear respectfully. Nobody should let anyone deceive them because of social media noise. I have never used my body to collect a movie role. I have never slept with anyone to get featured in any film. I have never exchanged sex for opportunity,” she wrote.

Kemity emphasized her financial independence before gaining fame, noting that she owned two wine shops and worked as a receptionist at Masters Hotel, Ayobo.

She further explained that financial pressures during productions initially led her to work as a makeup artist before returning fully to acting. “From the beginning, I have always been an actress. When I noticed that actors had to feed themselves and even pay for hotels to sleep during production, I decided to become part of the crew as a makeup artist. My growth has always been step by step. Nothing was handed to me. I have always worked for my money,” she said.

The mother of two added that she is raising her daughters with dignity and strong values, stressing that her achievements are the result of hard work and God’s grace. “I am a mother. I have two daughters I am raising and training with dignity and strong values. I cannot build their future on something dirty,” she noted.

Reaffirming her integrity, Kemity stated: “My name is clean, Ariyo Oluwakemisola APESIN. No one, and I mean no one, can ever come out boldly to say I used my body to collect anything.”

She concluded by advising aspiring actresses to focus on talent, discipline, consistency, and hard work as the path to success.
