RECRUITMENT: NAFDAC WARNS JOB SEEKERS OVER FAKE NOTICE
NAFDAC WARNS JOB SEEKERS OVER FAKE NOTICE
The National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) has disowned a recruitment notice currently circulating on social media, describing it as fake and misleading.
In a disclaimer issued on Wednesday, the agency clarified that it has not announced any recruitment exercise, warning members of the public to disregard the information and avoid falling victim to fraudsters.
The statement, signed by NAFDAC’s Director-General, Prof. Mojisola Christianah Adeyeye, said the purported press release did not originate from the agency.
“Our attention has been drawn to a fake press release on a planned NAFDAC recruitment exercise circulating on social media,” the agency stated.
“While NAFDAC periodically conducts recruitment to engage qualified Nigerians, the press release in circulation and its contents are false,” the statement added.
NAFDAC stressed that no recruitment process is currently underway and cautioned job seekers against individuals or groups demanding money under the guise of employment opportunities.
According to the agency, such fake notices are often deployed by unscrupulous elements to extort unsuspecting applicants through application or processing fees.
The regulatory body reiterated that NAFDAC does not charge any fee for recruitment and advised Nigerians to verify information through official sources before taking action.
“Authentic information from NAFDAC is communicated only through the agency’s official website and recognised media platforms,” the statement noted.
NAFDAC urged the public, particularly unemployed youths, to remain vigilant and report suspicious recruitment claims to relevant authorities.
