OYO STATE ORDERS EARLY OFFICE CLOSURE FOR OYO STATE AT 50 CELEBRATION

The Oyo State Government has directed all Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs) to close offices early to allow public officers to participate in the grand finale of activities marking the 50th anniversary of the state’s creation.

The directive, signed on Monday by the Secretary to the State Government, Prof. Musibau Adetunji Babatunde, requires all state government offices to close by 12:00 noon on Tuesday, February 3, 2026.

Governor Engr. Seyi Makinde approved the early closure as part of the preparations for the golden jubilee celebration, themed #OyoStateAt50.

Heads of MDAs have been instructed to ensure full compliance while maintaining skeletal services in critical areas where necessary. Prof. Babatunde also urged that the information be widely publicized to guarantee awareness and adherence across the state.

The early closure is aimed at ensuring that public officers can actively participate in the celebratory events, underscoring the government’s commitment to commemorating Oyo State’s history and achievements.
