AFTERMATH OF LATE-NIGHT ATTACK ROCKS ILU-ABO COMMUNITY IN AKURE


Tension gripped residents of Ilu-Abo in the Eleyewo area of Akure, Ondo State capital, following a late-night attack by suspected gunmen that left two persons abducted and one injured.

A video circulating online and obtained by OPIMA REALNEWS shows scenes from the community shortly after the incident, with residents visibly distressed as security concerns heighten in the area. The footage captures the immediate aftermath, including anxious neighbours and signs of disruption linked to the attack.


As previously reported, the assailants allegedly invaded the community under the cover of darkness, abducted two individuals to an undisclosed location, and shot another resident who sustained injuries. The injured victim was reportedly taken to a medical facility for treatment, though official confirmation of the person’s condition is still pending.

Residents described the development as alarming, calling for strengthened security patrols and swift intervention by law enforcement agencies to prevent further incidents.

As of the time of filing this report, security authorities have yet to issue an official statement detailing the circumstances surrounding the attack or steps being taken to rescue the abducted victims.
