The Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID), Panti, Lagos State, DCP Soledayo Ralf Akinbisehin, has received commendation for his professionalism, leadership qualities and commitment to humane policing.
Akinbisehin, who hails from Ile-Oluji, the headquarters of Ile-Oluji/Okeigbo Local Government Area of Ondo State, was praised by a Lagos-based community champion and social justice advocate, Aduragbemi ‘Lanre Olaide.
In a statement made available to journalists, Olaide described the senior police officer as a disciplined and responsible leader whose stewardship at the SCID has been marked by operational competence, strategic coordination and adherence to due process.
According to him, the SCID under Akinbisehin’s leadership has demonstrated investigative depth while maintaining respect for human dignity and constitutional rights.
“At a time when public confidence in security institutions remains critical, DCP Akinbisehin has shown that effective policing can be achieved through a balanced blend of firmness and humanity,” Olaide stated.
He added that the officer’s calm disposition, fairness in handling cases and openness to lawful engagement have helped strengthen public trust in the police.
Olaide further noted that the leadership style of the SCID boss has encouraged discipline, professionalism and teamwork among officers under his command, fostering a culture of accountability and ethical standards within the department.
He also pointed to reported successes in criminal investigations and case management during Akinbisehin’s tenure as evidence of his administrative capability and strategic foresight.
The social justice advocate observed that there have been positive accounts from families of accused persons regarding the manner in which cases were handled, noting that such reports reflect improved professionalism and reduced complaints of misconduct.
Olaide urged the Nigeria Police Force and the Office of the Inspector General of Police to continue supporting officers who demonstrate integrity, professionalism and commitment to the rule of law.
He equally acknowledged the Lagos State Police Command under the leadership of Commissioner of Police Jimoh Moshood for providing institutional support that promotes accountability and professionalism.
The commendation highlights ongoing efforts within the Nigeria Police Force to strengthen public trust through people-centered policing and adherence to established legal standards.
