Adebare Emerges best performing Council Chairman on Infrastructure in Ondo

The Executive Chairman of Ile-Oluji/Okeigbo Local Government Area in Ondo State, Hon. Adeboye Adebare, has been named the Best Performing Council Chairman on Infrastructure in Ondo State by Rootswatch Magazine ahead of its 2026 Local Government Chairman Merit Awards.

According to the organisers, Adebare earned the recognition after a detailed nomination and assessment process involving council chairmen across the state.

Rootswatch Magazine explained that the selection process included rigorous screening, independent verification, and evaluation of infrastructural projects and developmental initiatives undertaken by local government administrations.

Hon. Adebare was shortlisted alongside four other council chairmen from the 18 local government areas in Ondo State following the nomination phase. After a comprehensive review of their performance records and project delivery, the organisers announced Adebare as the top performer in the infrastructure category.

The award will be formally presented at the 2026 Rootswatch Magazine Local Government Chairman Merit Award ceremony, with the organisers expected to announce the official date and venue in the coming days.

Observers attribute the recognition to the ongoing development efforts within Ile-Oluji/Okeigbo Local Government under Adebare’s leadership. Since assuming office, the council chairman has initiated several infrastructure-related projects aimed at improving public facilities, enhancing community development, and strengthening the local economy.

The recognition has also been linked to broader national and state development policies, including the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the developmental framework promoted by the Ondo State Government under Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, which continues to encourage local government participation in grassroots development.

Adebare’s administrative experience has also been highlighted as a factor contributing to his governance approach. Before becoming chairman, he served as a Supervisory Councillor and later as Vice Chairman of the council, positions that provided him with extensive knowledge of local government administration and community development needs.

Stakeholders say these experiences, combined with his focus on infrastructure and grassroots engagement, have helped drive several development initiatives across communities in Ile-Oluji/Okeigbo Local Government Area.

The recognition by Rootswatch Magazine is widely viewed as an acknowledgment of Adebare’s commitment to infrastructure development and his administration’s efforts to improve the living conditions of residents within the council area.
