APC DIRECTS IMMEDIATE SWEARING-IN OF NEWLY ELECTED EXECUTIVES NATIONWIDE


The All Progressives Congress (APC) has ordered the formal swearing-in of its newly elected executive committee members across the country, marking the official commencement of their duties within the party structure.

The directive was contained in a statement issued on Tuesday by the party’s National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka. He stated that the inauguration of the elected officers must be conducted in strict compliance with the provisions of the party’s constitution.

According to the statement, the ward and local government congresses were successfully held on February 18, 2026, while several states have since conducted their respective state congresses. Lagos and a few other states concluded their congresses on Tuesday.

Although some of the earlier ward, local government, and state congresses were reportedly marked by disputes in certain areas, with aggrieved members said to be seeking legal redress, the national leadership of the party maintained that all duly elected officials must be formally inaugurated.

“The All Progressives Congress hereby directs that the Ward, Local Government and State Executive Committees duly elected at the 2026 Congresses of the Party be sworn in or inaugurated today or soon thereafter in accordance with the relevant provisions of the Party’s Constitution,” the statement read in part.

The party also commended its members and stakeholders for what it described as the generally peaceful conduct of the congresses across the country.

“Our great Party wishes to thank all members, stakeholders and supporters for the peaceful conduct of Congresses around the country. Congratulations to all,” the statement added.

The swearing-in of the executives is expected to consolidate the party’s internal structures ahead of future political activities.
