A community stakeholder, Prince Owolade Olukayode, has commended the Executive Chairman of Ile-Oluji/Okeigbo Local Government, Hon. Adeboye Adebare, for what he described as impactful governance within the first year of the administration.
In a statement released to mark the chairman’s first anniversary in office, Owolade highlighted several projects and initiatives that have contributed to development across the local government area.
Among the key projects cited is the installation of a solar-powered car park at the local government secretariat, aimed at promoting sustainable energy usage and reducing dependence on fuel-powered generators. Environmental safety efforts were also noted through the dredging of waterways to mitigate flooding risks in vulnerable communities.
The statement further referenced improvements in rural infrastructure, particularly road upgrades that have enhanced mobility for farmers, traders, and residents. According to the community leader, these developments are expected to support local economic activities and improve access within the area.
In the area of governance and administration, the procurement of official vehicles and strengthened collaboration with traditional institutions were mentioned as part of efforts to enhance service delivery. Staff welfare initiatives, including the provision of a union bus and renovation of office facilities, were also acknowledged.
Social intervention programmes introduced by the administration were equally highlighted. These include support initiatives for elderly residents and broader welfare efforts targeted at vulnerable groups within the community.
Market development projects, such as the renovation of Obada Market, were noted as steps toward improving the trading environment and encouraging commercial growth in the locality.
The recent launch of the “Ounje Irorun” programme was also referenced. The initiative, which focuses on food support for residents, was approved by both the executive and legislative arms of the local government as part of activities marking the administration’s first anniversary.
In addition, the role of the chairman’s spouse, Mrs. Omowumi Eluwole Adeboye, was acknowledged for her involvement in social development initiatives. Her recent outreach programme included the distribution of sanitary pads to female students in selected schools, alongside awareness campaigns on menstrual hygiene and girl-child education.
