The Paramount Ruler of Okeigbo Kingdom, His Royal Majesty, Oba Akintoye Adeoye, Kugbaigbe IV, on Saturday led members of the Okeigbo Traditional Council on an inspection and monitoring visit to the ongoing reconstruction of Obada Market in Okeigbo, Ondo State.

The project is being undertaken by the Ile-Oluji/Okeigbo Local Government under the administration of the Executive Chairman, Hon. Adeboye Adebare.

The inspection tour was conducted alongside the local government chairman and members of his team, including the Supervisor for Works, Hon. Oyebade Lateef, as well as other stakeholders who joined the royal delegation to assess the progress and quality of work on the project.

During the visit, the monarch and his entourage inspected several aspects of the development, including the newly constructed concrete road within the market premises, reconstructed market stalls, and other ongoing structural works aimed at improving the overall layout and functionality of the market.

Speaking after the inspection, Oba Akintoye Adeoye commended the scale, quality, and pace of the work being carried out at the market. He noted that the project reflects careful planning and a commitment to improving infrastructure that supports commercial activities within the community.

Drawing from his professional experience in property development, the monarch observed that the standard of work being executed is commendable and described the reconstruction as a significant upgrade that will enhance the environment for traders, buyers, and other market users.

He further noted that the ongoing transformation of Obada Market represents a major improvement to the facility and is expected to strengthen trading activities and contribute positively to the local economy of Okeigbo and surrounding communities.

The monarch also emphasized that the performance of the local government chairman should be viewed within the broader context of governance and service delivery. According to him, the ongoing development reflects efforts aimed at improving infrastructure and enhancing economic opportunities for residents.

The Obada Market reconstruction is part of several development initiatives undertaken by the Adebare administration within less than one year in office, with a focus on improving public infrastructure and stimulating economic activities across the Ile-Oluji/Okeigbo Local Government Area.

In his remarks during the inspection, Hon. Adeboye Adebare reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to grassroots development, noting that efforts are being directed toward ensuring that development projects directly benefit communities across the local government.

He stated that the reconstruction of Obada Market is intended to support local businesses, improve trading conditions, and create a more organized and accessible commercial environment for traders and residents.

As work continues on the project, traders and residents have expressed optimism that the reconstruction will further strengthen the role of Obada Market as one of the major trading centers in Okeigbo.
