ADEBARE DRIVES RAPID TRANSFORMATION IN ILE-OLUJI/OKEIGBO WITH LANDMARK ONE-YEAR ACHIEVEMENTS
In one year of administrative leadership, the Executive Chairman of Ile-Oluji/Okeigbo Local Government, Hon. Adebare Adeboye, has recorded a series of developmental strides across key sectors, reflecting a focus on infrastructure, governance, and social welfare.
Available records of projects and initiatives indicate a deliberate effort by the administration to improve public service delivery and enhance living standards within the local government area.
One of the notable interventions is the comprehensive renovation of the Local Government Secretariat. The facility, previously in a deteriorating condition, has been upgraded into a more functional administrative complex. Officials say the development is aimed at improving operational efficiency and creating a conducive working environment for staff.
In the area of infrastructure and innovation, the administration facilitated the construction of a solar-powered dual-purpose car park. The project integrates energy efficiency with public utility, aligning with broader sustainability considerations.
To address environmental challenges, particularly flooding, the local government carried out dredging of major waterways in Ile-Oluji. The initiative is expected to improve drainage systems and reduce flood risks affecting residential areas and farmlands.
The administration has also undertaken measures to strengthen institutional operations through the provision of vehicles to political office holders, legislative members, traditional rulers, and local government staff, including members of the Nigeria Union of Local Government Employees (NULGE). This intervention is intended to improve mobility and administrative coordination.
Economic development efforts are evident in the ongoing reconstruction of Obada Market in Okeigbo. The project includes the construction of internal concrete roads aimed at improving accessibility and creating a more organized trading environment for businesses.
Rural infrastructure has also received attention, with the grading of several rural roads across communities in the local government area. The move is expected to ease transportation challenges and support agricultural and commercial activities.
In addition to physical projects, the administration has implemented a number of social welfare initiatives. These include staff welfare programs designed to enhance productivity, the bi-monthly “Ounje Irorun” food support initiative, and monthly stipends for elderly residents.
Observers note that these interventions reflect an approach that combines infrastructure development with social support measures.
As the administration enters its second year, expectations remain high among residents for the continuation of projects and policies aimed at sustaining development and improving quality of life across Ile-Oluji/Okeigbo Local Government.
