ILE-OLUJI’S SCHOLARSHIP CULTURE EARNS PRAISE FROM TEACHER
A teacher at Baptist High School, Ile-Oluji, has commended the community for its strong culture of educational support, describing the town as one of the few places where students consistently benefit from scholarships funded by both local and diaspora residents.
Miss Akomolafe, who has spent seven months teaching in the area, shared her observations on the growing number of scholarship opportunities available to students. According to her, the level of commitment shown by individuals and groups in supporting education is both remarkable and inspiring.
She noted that within her short stay, she has witnessed numerous scholarship awards granted to deserving students, emphasizing that such initiatives are making a meaningful impact on academic development in the community.
“Just recently, I was asked by my school principal to nominate students who are eligible for scholarship opportunities. It is encouraging to see how many students are benefiting from these interventions,” she said.
Miss Akomolafe expressed hope that beneficiaries of these scholarships would, in the future, give back to the community by contributing to its development and growth. She also highlighted the important role teachers play in shaping the lives of these students, calling for continued recognition and support for educators.
Describing Ile-Oluji as a fortunate and progressive town, she praised the efforts of sponsors and donors who continue to invest in education, noting that their contributions are helping to secure a brighter future for many young people.
She added that the collective commitment of the community to education serves as a model worthy of emulation, particularly in promoting access to learning and academic excellence.
