APC UNVEILS FULL TIMETABLE AND FEES FOR 2027 GENERAL ELECTION PRIMARIES


The All Progressives Congress (APC) has officially released its schedule of activities and detailed timetable ahead of the 2027 general elections, outlining key dates for primaries, screening, and submission of nomination forms.

According to the document issued by the party’s National Secretariat in Abuja, the timetable aligns with the provisions of the 1999 Constitution (as amended) and the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) guidelines for the 2027 elections.

Key Dates and Activities


The process begins with the issuance of the notice of election to state chapters on Monday, April 20, 2026. This will be followed by the sale of nomination forms, scheduled to run from April 25 to May 2, 2026 at the APC National Secretariat.

The deadline for submission of completed forms and required documents is set for May 4, 2026.

Screening and Appeals

Screening of aspirants for various positions—including State Houses of Assembly, House of Representatives, Senate, Governorship, and Presidential tickets—will take place between May 6 and May 9, 2026.

Publication of screening results is expected on May 11, 2026, while appeals arising from the screening exercise will be handled between May 12 and May 13, 2026.

Primary Elections Schedule

The APC primaries will be conducted as follows:

Presidential Primary: May 15–16, 2026

House of Representatives: May 18, 2026

Senate: May 20, 2026

State House of Assembly: May 21, 2026

Governorship: May 23, 2026

Appeals related to the primaries will be addressed between May 18 and May 25, 2026, depending on the category of election.

Cost of Nomination Forms

The party also announced the fees for aspirants seeking various elective offices:

State House of Assembly: ₦6 million

House of Representatives: ₦10 million

Senate: ₦20 million

Governorship: ₦50 million

Presidential Ticket: ₦100 million

However, the APC noted that female aspirants, youths, and persons with disabilities will receive concessions, paying only for the Expression of Interest forms while enjoying a 50 percent discount on nomination fees.

Official Endorsement

The timetable was endorsed by the APC National Organizing Secretary, Sulaiman Muhammad Argungu, who urged party members and prospective aspirants to adhere strictly to the outlined schedule.

The release of the timetable signals the formal commencement of APC’s internal electoral process as political activities gradually intensify ahead of the 2027 general elections.
