The All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) has officially released its provisional timetable and schedule of activities for the 2026 primary elections ahead of the 2027 general elections, setting the total cost of its presidential nomination forms at ₦75 million.
The party’s National Working Committee disclosed the development in a statement issued by its National Publicity Secretary, Ejimofor Opara, on Sunday, outlining key dates, procedures, and fees for aspirants across various political offices.
According to the timetable, all primary elections are scheduled to hold on May 23, 2026, at the ward level using the Option A4 voting system. Appeals arising from the primaries are expected to be concluded by May 28, 2026.
APGA stated that the sale and submission of expression of interest forms will run from April 20 to May 8, 2026. Screening of aspirants is scheduled as follows: National Assembly candidates on May 11, State House of Assembly aspirants on May 12, and governorship hopefuls on May 13.
A breakdown of the fees shows that the expression of interest form for the presidential ticket is pegged at ₦25 million, while the nomination form costs ₦50 million, bringing the total to ₦75 million.
For other positions, senatorial aspirants are to pay ₦6 million for expression of interest and ₦15 million for nomination forms. House of Representatives aspirants will pay ₦4 million and ₦12 million respectively, while governorship aspirants are to pay ₦10 million for expression of interest and ₦25 million for nomination.
State House of Assembly aspirants will pay ₦2 million for expression of interest and ₦6 million for nomination forms.
The party noted that the timetable aligns with the revised schedule of activities released by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) on February 26, 2026, and complies with provisions of the Electoral Act 2026 and the APGA Constitution (2019).
APGA emphasised that the process is part of its preparations to field candidates for all elective positions in the upcoming general elections, while ensuring adherence to internal democratic procedures.
The announcement comes as political parties across Nigeria begin early groundwork and strategic planning ahead of the 2027 elections.
