POLICE INVITE ONDO FINANCE COMMISSIONER OVER ALLEGED ATTEMPTED MURDER, CONSPIRACY


The Nigeria Police Force has invited the Ondo State Commissioner for Finance, Mrs. Omowunmi Isaac, for questioning over her alleged involvement in a case under investigation involving attempted murder and criminal conspiracy.

The invitation was issued by the Inspector-General of Police Monitoring Unit at the Force Headquarters in Abuja. It was signed by Assistant Commissioner of Police, Mayamba Magomya Aliya, according to official correspondence.

Police authorities stated that the investigation covers allegations including criminal conspiracy, attempted murder, threat to life, assault, and the infliction of grievous bodily harm. Mrs. Isaac was said to have been named in a report submitted to the police, necessitating her invitation to provide clarification as part of the ongoing probe.

The police noted that the invitation is in line with Section 53(2)(a) of the Administration of Criminal Justice Act, 2015, which empowers law enforcement agencies to invite individuals whose statements may be relevant to investigations.
