TINUBU REAFFIRMS COMMITMENT TO NATIONAL DEVELOPMENT, VOWS NOT TO FAIL NIGERIANS


President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to building a stable, peaceful, and prosperous Nigeria, assuring citizens that their welfare remains a top priority.

Speaking on Thursday at the State House in Abuja while receiving members of the Renewed Hope Ambassadors, led by Imo State Governor Hope Uzodimma, the President said ongoing political and economic reforms are aimed at restructuring the system to promote inclusive growth and broader participation.

Tinubu explained that long-standing structural challenges affecting Nigeria’s prosperity are being addressed through deliberate economic realignment, designed to create opportunities, particularly for vulnerable populations.

The meeting was attended by Vice President Kashim Shettima, the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Prof. Nentawe Goshwe Yilwatda, several state governors, former governors, and other senior political figures.

The President urged members of the Renewed Hope Ambassadors to intensify grassroots mobilisation and public sensitisation on government policies, noting that citizen participation is essential to national development.

“You represent the conscience of a nation determined to break free from poverty and hopelessness,” Tinubu said, encouraging continued engagement with communities across the country.

He also stressed the importance of upholding democratic principles, including respect for the rule of law, separation of powers, and judicial independence.

“We must respect lawful court orders and uphold the institutions of democracy, regardless of personal or political interests,” he stated.

Tinubu reiterated that his administration is focused on fostering inclusive economic growth, creating opportunities for young people, and ensuring equitable development across all regions.

Addressing concerns about criticism from opposition groups, the President urged Nigerians not to be discouraged by misinformation, adding that reforms often come with initial challenges but are necessary for long-term progress.

He maintained that Nigeria’s development depends on collective effort and a shared national vision.

“There is no alternative to building a united and prosperous country. We must work together to achieve sustainable progress,” he said.

Earlier, Governor Uzodimma, who serves as Director-General of the Renewed Hope Ambassadors, briefed the President on the group’s activities nationwide. He said structures have been established across local governments and wards, with mobilisation efforts ongoing at grassroots levels, including markets, schools, and community groups.

Uzodimma described the initiative as active and coordinated, noting that it is already yielding measurable political and civic engagement outcomes.

Also speaking, former Katsina State Governor Aminu Bello Masari commended the President’s reform agenda, describing it as necessary despite current economic challenges. He expressed support from political stakeholders in the North-West region and pledged continued backing for government initiatives.

Other speakers at the event, including APC National Chairman Yilwatda and several governors, highlighted ongoing infrastructure and policy reforms under the administration.

President Tinubu concluded by assuring Nigerians of his dedication to governance, stating that he remains committed to delivering on his promises and will not abandon the responsibility entrusted to him.
