AAUA SUG PRESIDENT SPARKS REACTIONS AFTER APPOINTING 40 AIDES, SPECIAL ADVISERS
The newly elected President of the Students’ Union Government (SUG) of Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba-Akoko (AAUA), Ondo State, Folagbade Greatness Ayoola, has appointed about 40 aides and special advisers shortly after assuming office.
Ayoola, popularly known among students as “Greatness of AAUASU,” announced the appointments through an official memo issued from the Office of the SUG President.
According to the memo, the appointments were made to strengthen administrative efficiency and ensure smooth coordination within the student union government.
The statement explained that the appointees were carefully selected after undergoing screening processes and were considered capable of handling their assigned responsibilities.
Among the key appointments announced are Olayinka Oluwaferanmi Emmanuel as Chief of Staff and Oluwafemi Olalekan Israel as Deputy Chief of Staff.
Other notable appointments include Omotunwase Success Ayomide as Senior Personal Assistant to the President, Obagaye Micheal as Personal Assistant II to the President, Olaleye Kausara as Secretary to the President, and Ajileye Henry Olawale as Chief Press Secretary.
The administration also unveiled several directorate positions aimed at addressing different areas of student affairs and campus administration.
Some of the directorate offices created include Director of Protocol, Director of Media and Publicity, Director of Travels and Exchange, Director of Gender, Director of Photography and Videography, and Director of Housing, Agents and Accommodations.
In addition, numerous special adviser roles were introduced across strategic sectors within the union administration.
The memo listed advisory positions covering Strategy, Special Duties, Logistics, Academic Affairs, Christianity and Spiritual Matters, Union Projects, Health Services, Social Media Engagements, Female Sensitisation and Women Affairs, Associations and Mobility, Campus Transportation, and Sports and Recreation.
Other advisory portfolios include External Affairs, Sanitation, Presidential Movements and Physical Fitness, Letters and Documentation, Graphics and Content Creation, Budgeting and Finance, Law and Constitutional Matters, Students’ Welfare, Islamic Affairs, Political Matters, Fundraising and Sponsorships, Information and Communication Technology, and Security Affairs.
The SUG president also announced security-related appointments, including ADC 1 under the Independent Protection and Cadet Corps (IPCC), while positions for ADC 2 under Man O’ War and ADC 3 under the Cadet Corps remain vacant.
The appointments have since generated discussions among students and observers, with many reacting to the size of the administrative structure introduced by the new SUG leadership.
