AKINGBASO HUMILIATES ADEFISOYE IN LANDSLIDE APC REPS PRIMARY VICTORY
The member representing Idanre/Ifedore Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Hon. Festus Akingbaso, has secured the All Progressives Congress (APC) ticket to contest for another term in the National Assembly after emerging victorious in the party’s primary election held on Saturday.
Akingbaso recorded a landslide victory in the exercise, polling a total of 10,521 votes to defeat other contenders in the race.
Former federal lawmaker, Hon. Tajudeen Adefisoye, popularly known as “Small Alhaji,” came a distant second with 1,432 votes, while Rasaq Obe garnered 1,029 votes.
Another aspirant, Barrister Tayo Akinyeye, secured 808 votes in the primary election.
The APC primary election was conducted across the Idanre/Ifedore Federal Constituency under the supervision of party officials and electoral committee members.
Party stakeholders described the exercise as peaceful, orderly, and transparent, with delegates and party faithful participating actively in the voting process.
Following the announcement of the results, supporters of Akingbaso celebrated the outcome, describing it as a reflection of the confidence party members have in his representation and leadership.
Stakeholders within the APC also called on members of the party to remain united and work collectively ahead of the forthcoming general election.
The outcome of the primary election officially confirms Akingbaso as the APC candidate for the Idanre/Ifedore Federal Constituency in the next House of Representatives election.
