Former Ondo State Governor, Dr. Olusegun Mimiko, popularly known as “Iroko,” has officially joined the All Progressives Congress (APC), a development widely seen as a major political realignment in Ondo State ahead of future electoral activities.

Dr. Mimiko, who remains the first governor in Ondo State history to complete two terms in office, publicly announced his defection during a visit to the APC Secretariat in Ondo City. He was formally received by the Ondo State APC Chairman, Hon. Kolawole Babatunde, alongside senior party leaders, stakeholders, and supporters.

The former governor’s movement into the ruling party is expected to reshape political calculations within the state and strengthen the APC’s influence across various political blocs. Political observers have described the development as one of the most significant shifts in Ondo State politics in recent years.
