ILE-OLUJI/OKEIGBO LG CHAIRMAN, HON. ADEBARE, MOURNS CHIEF NATHANIEL FAPOHUNDA
The Executive Chairman of Ile-Oluji/Okeigbo Local Government, Hon. Adebare Adeboye, has expressed deep sorrow over the death of elder statesman and prominent political leader, Chief Nathaniel Fapohunda, whose passing was announced in the early hours of Tuesday.
In a statement made available to journalists, Hon. Adebare described the late Chief Fapohunda as a respected leader whose contributions to grassroots governance and democratic development left a lasting impact on the people of Ile-Oluji/Okeigbo Local Government and Ondo State.
According to the Council Chairman, the deceased lived a life of service, dedication, and commitment to the growth of his community and the advancement of progressive politics in the state.
Hon. Adebare recalled that Chief Fapohunda served as the Leader of the Legislative House in the old Ifesowapo Local Government, which comprised Ile-Oluji, Okeigbo, and Odigbo communities. He also served as the Executive Vice Chairman of Ile-Oluji/Okeigbo Local Government and was a former part-time member of the Ondo State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB).
The Chairman further noted that the late political leader was the first Local Government Party Chairman of the defunct Alliance for Democracy (AD) in Ile-Oluji/Okeigbo Local Government, where he played a significant role in strengthening democratic values and grassroots political structures.
Describing Chief Fapohunda as a man of wisdom, humility, integrity, and exemplary leadership, Hon. Adebare said his death represents a major loss to the political and social community in Okeigbo and beyond.
He extended condolences to the immediate family of the deceased, political associates, friends, and the people of Okeigbo community, praying for the repose of the departed elder statesman and strength for those affected by the loss.
