FADOLA WITHDRAWS FROM APC REPS RACE, BACKS AKINGBASO IN IDANRE/IFEDORE

A major development has emerged ahead of the All Progressives Congress (APC) primary election in Ondo State as frontline House of Representatives aspirant, Prince Aderosoye Fadola, has officially withdrawn from the Idanre/Ifedore Federal Constituency race and declared support for incumbent lawmaker, Hon. Festus Akingbaso.

Fadola, a chieftain of the APC and Fellow Certified Public Accountant (FCPA), announced his decision in a statement issued on Saturday in Ilara-Mokin, Ondo State.

According to him, the move followed wide consultations with his family, political allies, and stakeholders within the APC, adding that his withdrawal was in line with the directive of the party’s national leadership.

The former aspirant said his decision reflected his commitment to party discipline, unity, and supremacy ahead of the APC primaries and the 2027 general elections.

“In demonstration of my unwavering belief in party unity and discipline, I have resolved to step down from the race and fully support the candidacy of the incumbent Member of the House of Representatives, Hon. Festus Akingbaso, in the forthcoming primaries and general elections,” Fadola stated.

He disclosed that his political structure across Idanre and Ifedore Local Government Areas had been directed to mobilise support for Akingbaso during the APC primary election.

Political observers say the endorsement is expected to strengthen Akingbaso’s position ahead of the party’s contest for the federal constituency ticket.

Fadola also used the opportunity to commend President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for what he described as purposeful leadership and commitment to national development.

He praised the President for appointing notable Ondo State indigenes into key positions in the Federal Executive Council, including Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo as Minister of Interior and Ayodele Olawande as Minister of Youth Development.

The APC stalwart particularly applauded Tunji-Ojo, describing him as one of the standout performers in the current administration.

Fadola further thanked his supporters across the constituency for their loyalty, encouragement, and confidence in his political ambition.

He urged them to remain steadfast in supporting the APC and work collectively for the success of the party in future elections.

Reaffirming his commitment to the development of Idanre/Ifedore Federal Constituency, Fadola pledged continued support for the unity and growth of the APC in Ondo State.
