ALL SIX ONDO SOUTH LG CHAIRMEN DECLARE SUPPORT FOR KEKEMEKE’S SENATORIAL AMBITION

As political activities ahead of the 2027 general elections begin to gather momentum in Ondo State, chairmen of the six local government areas in Ondo South Senatorial District have declared their support for the senatorial ambition of the National Vice Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the South-West, Mr. Isaacs Kekemeke.

Kekemeke, who currently serves as Chairman of the Board of the Nigerian Postal Service (NIPOST), had earlier announced his intention to contest the Ondo South Senatorial seat in the 2027 elections.

The endorsement reportedly came during a strategic political meeting held in Okitipupa, the headquarters of Okitipupa Local Government Area.

The council chairmen present at the meeting included Hon. Andrew Ogunsakin (Okitipupa), Hon. Taiwo Adegoroye (Odigbo), Hon. Jedi Akinfe (Irele), Hon. Maurice Oripenaye (Ilaje), Hon. Ebi Molos (Ese-Odo), and Hon. Adebare Adeboye (Ile-Oluji/Okeigbo).

According to the chairmen, their collective decision to support Kekemeke was based on what they described as his leadership experience, political pedigree, and commitment to the growth of the APC in Ondo State.

The council leaders also reaffirmed their support for the party’s consensus arrangement, which they said was being coordinated by Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa and other APC leaders in the state to ensure unity and stability within the party ahead of the primaries.

One of the chairmen at the meeting stated that the group was determined to maintain cohesion within the APC and would not be distracted by opposing interests.

In his remarks, Kekemeke appreciated the chairmen for the confidence reposed in him, describing the endorsement as a reflection of the trust party members and stakeholders have in his leadership capacity.

He pledged to work toward improving governance and unlocking the socio-economic potential of Ondo South Senatorial District if elected.

Kekemeke further assured party leaders and supporters that he would remain committed to advancing the goals of the APC and promoting people-oriented representation.
